BIG GAME HUNTING
Rocky Mountain elk and mule deer, black bear & mountain lion flourish in abundance, due to our careful management of critical habitat and water sources. An integral part of our management program is utilizing ethical hunting to control numbers of both predator and prey for optimal herd and habitat health, premium quality animals, and personalized experiences.
Our antlered big game (Bull elk, buck mule deer), bear, and lion, hunts are invitation only and pulled from our waiting list. To be added to our waiting list, you must complete one of our Elk Hunter Shooting Courses for cow elk. When an opening comes available in our antlered program, we will contact our wait-listed hunting guests and offer the slot. We will continue down the list until a guest accepts the slot. If a guest is unable to accept, (i.e.) due to scheduling conflicts or personal situation), that person will be rotated to the bottom of the list. Hunting program guests are subject to re-invitation each year. Invitations are issued in January, with deposits due in February. There are 3 primary rifle seasons for bull elk, and 2 for buck deer in our GMU 31, during the months of October and November. Lion hunts are available to any wait list clients for reservation at any time, until booked out. Lion hunts typically run December-March each year. Bear hunts are on opportunity basis and can be added to any booked antlered big game hunt for the cost of the hunting license plus a nominal harvest fee.
